Facial hair removal can be painful or may even not cause any pain, it depends on the process of removal. Moreover, the methods of removal are numerous and can be done at home but there are some which are more permanent like laser or electrolysis which is best done as a standard professional.

In case the facial hair growth is less, plucking would be the easiest and safest method to remove facial hair. This is also called tweezing as it is done with a pair of tweezers used to pluck out the unwanted facial hair right from the roots. This could be a little painful as you pluck the hair out and are usually effective for 2-4 weeks and will have to be repeated by then.

Another painless and simple way is by bleaching. Bleaching kits are easily available at most general stores. These just have to be applied on the face and left for 10 minutes and washed off. As long as they do not cause skin irritation, redness or itching it is very safe.

Another painless method is depilatory creams that dissolve the hair by way of a painless chemical reaction. Apart from allergic reaction these creams are relatively safe. Apart from this waxing is an option but that can be relatively painful. Wax can be applied on the face and cleared with a tug. As the hair is pulled out from the roots it takes about 4-6 weeks for the hair to come back.

You could also try home remedies like making a paste of sugar and lemon and adding a little water and applying it on your face according to the direction of the facial hair growth. Then wash it off with cold water after keeping it for 15 minutes.

Avoid shaving your face as your facial skin is very sensitive and shaving would only increase the unwanted facial hair growth.

Laser treatment and electrolysis are other options to remove facial hair but these are best done by trained persons in the prescribed way.
